T’puram: Nagaroor Police on Tuesday arrested a 19-year-old man for allegedly luring a 14-year-old Class IX student from her home on the pretext of a romantic relationship and sexually assaulting her.The arrested man, Binyamin, is from Mundailkonam, Nagaroor. The police said Binyamin had allegedly befriended the girl and gained confidence. He reportedly went to her house when her parents were away and took her on his motorcycle to his house on Thursday night. He allegedly brought her back home on Friday morning.According to the police, locals intercepted Binyamin while he was travelling with the girl on the motorcycle. They informed her guardians, who reached the spot and took the girl with them.Based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s guardians, the police registered a case under Pocso Act. The accused was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
