Kolkata: Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday sought a roadmap from the Jain community on development initiatives that the state govt could undertake for them, and urged members who had moved out of Bengal to return and invest in the state.Adhikari made the appeal after offering prayers at a Jain temple in Bhowanipore, saying the govt was willing to work with the community and discuss its proposals after Durga Puja.“The govt wants to work with you. Prepare a concrete roadmap on what can the govt do for you and we will sit one day after the Durga Puja and discuss the same,” said Adhikari.He also appealed to members of the community who had moved elsewhere to return to Bengal and expand their businesses, citing what he described as a changed scenario in the state following the change of guard.“You have seen that Bengal has been competing with Jammu & Kashmir in teenage marriage and teenage pregnancy. Narcotics and drug addiction has become a menace. I have already taken action in this regard. You (Jain community) are known for your education and reforms in society. I will urge you to join hands with the govt for societal reforms,” he added.
