The University of Delhi has extended the registration deadline for PhD admission 2026 for students who have completed four-year undergraduate programmes from the university under the National Education Policy (NEP) and Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF).
Eligible candidates now have time till September 16 to complete the online registration process. As per the revised schedule, students who completed four-year undergraduate programmes from DU under NEP, UGCF can apply for direct admission to PhD programmes till Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Previously, the date was September 14, 2026.
The university has also advised candidates to complete the process within the revised deadline. Those who were unable to apply to certain departments can now use the extended window to submit their applications, subject to the applicable eligibility conditions.

- Candidates can also access the dedicated PhD portal at DU PhD admission portal.
- Enter the required enrolment number and date of birth.
- Proceed to create or access the applicant account.
- Enter the required academic and personal details.
- Upload or provide the required information as instructed on the portal.
- Pay the prescribed application fee.
- Check all details carefully before submitting the application.
- Download and save the confirmation page for future reference.
