MOHALI: Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has taken into custody Karamveer Singh, an alleged close associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, following his deportation from Canada, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said.According to the DGP, Singh was apprehended at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi after being deported from Canada. He allegedly provided logistical support and a hideout to Anmol Bishnoi in the US.Singh was wanted in a case registered at the State Crime Police Station, Mohali, under relevant provisions of the IPC, Arms Act and Passport Act. The AGTF had initiated a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him on September 3, 2026.The accused has a criminal history involving cases related to murder, attempt to murder, robbery, extortion, offences under the Arms Act and other criminal activities, the DGP said.Further investigation is underway to establish his wider links with the transnational gangster network and ascertain his role in other criminal activities.The DGP said the Punjab Police remained committed to dismantling gangster networks and bringing wanted criminals to justice, irrespective of where they operate.
