Chandigarh: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday felicitated a Punjab Police team led by Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) SP Bikramjit Singh Brar for securing the extradition of fugitive criminal Amritpal Singh alias Amrit Dalam from Moldova.Mann said 1,234 gangster modules had been busted and 10 fugitives deported from abroad. He said 60,582 FIRs had been registered against drug traffickers and properties worth Rs 366 crore seized.He said Punjab Police had been equipped with high-tech anti-drone systems and Village Defence Committees comprising 1.5 lakh people had been formed. “No person or group that attempts to disturb the peace of Punjab will be spared,” he said.In a post on X, Mann said there was “no safe haven for gangsters anymore”, adding that Punjab Police would track fugitives wherever they hid.Mann said Amrit Dalam’s extradition was a major achievement in the campaign against organised crime. He said Dalam was a key operative of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang and wanted in cases of murder, attempt to murder, offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Arms Act, and narcotic offences.
