Kanpur: Two motorcyclists died in a head-on collision near Rura Tiraha on the Rasulabad-Shivli route in Kanpur Dehat around 12:30 pm on Monday.Police said the speeding motorcycles collided under Shivli police station limits, throwing both riders into a roadside ditch. Police took them to hospital, where doctors declared them dead.The deceased were identified through their motorcycle registration numbers as Raj (21), son of Ghulam Rasul and a resident of Talib Sarai in Unnao, and Divakar (27), son of Vijay Kumar Saksena and a resident of Simramau Banipara in Rura.Divakar was travelling towards Kanpur, while Raj was coming from Rasulabad.Station House Officer Amarendra Bahadur Singh said the bodies had been sent for post-mortem examination. An FIR would be registered and further action taken based on the complaint.
