Nagpur: A 30-year-old worker died after his arm was trapped in a conveyor belt and got torn off at a private foundry in MIDC Hingna area on Monday.The accident took place around 8.30am. Rohit Choube, a resident of Isasani, was working on a platform near a melting furnace when his arm got caught in the conveyor belt attached to a crane and was severed from the shoulder.Fellow workers stopped the crane and rushed Choube with the severed arm to a hospital at Digdoh. Doctors found his condition critical and referred him to a govt medical hospital in Nagpur where he was declared dead on arrival.Choube earlier worked as a plumber’s assistant at other sites. He is survived by his wife and a four-month-old child. MIDC police have registered a case and begun further investigation.
