Daltonganj: A private healthcare facility in Daltonganj town was sealed by district authorities late on Sunday after for glaring lapses in medical infrastructure. An inspection, carried out by Sadar subdivisional officer (SDO) Sanjay Pandey and Palamu civil surgeon Dr Anil Sriwastwa, found that Reema Sewa Sadan did not have a proper operation theatre lamp, lacked an anaesthesia workstation and emergency healthcare arrangement. The OT table was damaged and filthy, and an unlicensed drug store was operating on its premises. Two patients, who had undergone C-section procedures on Sept 6, were shifted to the maternity ward of Medinirai Medical College and Hospital (MMCH). “The inspection was carried after receiving complaints from the public,” Sriwastwa said. No doctor or paramedical staff was present during the inspection. The centre’s registration under the Clinical Establishments Act was to expire on Sept 17. “It also lacked fire safety measures and biomedical waste management,” Sriwastwa said.
