A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car on the M8 motorway just west of Glasgow Airport.
Police Scotland said the 45-year-old man was hit by a black Mini Cooper, close to junction 29, at about 23:45 on Sunday.
The busy motorway was closed in both directions overnight between junctions 29 and 30 but reopened shortly before 09:00 on Monday.
The closure caused long tailbacks during the morning rush hour with diversion routes becoming congested.
Police said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision and his relatives have been informed. No-one else was injured.
Sgt Jack Swindells said: “Our thoughts remain with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time, and our inquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and has yet to speak with officers to come forward.
“I’d also ask that those driving in the area at the time with dash-cam footage review this to see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
