Pune: A 47-year-old woman resisted a bid by two motorcycle-borne men to snatch her gold chain at around 10.20pm on Friday at Bhumkar Vasti in Narhe. Later that night, she lodged a complaint with Narhe police.According to a police officer, “The woman was taking a walk near her residential building when the two men on a motorcycle approached her. The woman realised that the duo intended to snatch her gold chain. She held the chain, while the pillion rider managed to grab a section of it. She tried keeping a firm grip, but the suspects managed to grab and flee with the other half of the chain, worth Rs1.10 lakh.”“The suspects sped away towards the Katraj-Dehu Road bypass. The woman tried to chase their motorcycle, but her efforts were unsuccessful. She did not sustain any injuries in the incident. We are studying CCTV footage from the area to track the movement of the suspects and identify the registration number of the motorcycle used,” the officer added.
