Mysuru: City police commissioner Seema Latkar on Saturday appealed to people to obtain prior permission from the all zonal offices of Mysuru City Corporation, gram panchayat offices, other departments concerned before erecting Ganesha pandals in public places on account of Gowri-Ganesha celebrations on Monday.According to a release, she stated that there is a single-window clearance cell involving police, fire and emergency services, CESCOM, MCC, and other local bodies to issue no objection certificate to set up Ganesha pandals.The commissioner also appealed to people, organisers to ensure the installation of CCTV cameras at Ganesha pandals where many people gather, besides abiding by high court directions of banning banners and posters while erecting Ganesha pandals.She also appealed to handover the idols at designated spots identified by the MCC for immersion of Ganesha idols. She appealed to make sufficient lighting arrangements during immersion in lakes.“Police will initiate stern action against the organisers for circulating fake news in social media. Organisers will be held responsible for untoward incidents during the immersion and celebration of the festival,” she added.
