Lucknow: Books found their beat at Lucknow University as the Gomti Book Festival turned into a vibrant meeting point for young readers, music lovers and campus goers. From the rustle of new pages to the sound of Paras Band’s rock performance, the book fest offered students a chance to browse, discover, connect and capture moments with friends, making reading feel less like a habit and more like an experience.“I bought The Alchemist because I have heard so much about it but never had the chance to read it,” said a student, Aditi VermaFrom religious and spiritual literature to Urdu poetry and fiction, archaeology, history and theatre, the Gomti Book Festival offers readers an expansive choice of genres“I bought The Kite Runner because I wanted to read a story that goes beyond the usual campus books and explores friendship, relationships and difficult choices.,” said Rahul Singh, a student.Books on theatre, classical music, dance, folk traditions and India’s performing arts draw readers interested in the country’s rich cultural heritage, while Urdu literature adds another layer through poetry, novels and works reflecting the language’s literary tradition. History enthusiasts can browse books on archaeology, monuments, heritage and India’s past.“I bought a Hindi poetry collection because I wanted to read something different. The variety is exciting and Paras Band’s performance made the whole experience even more enjoyable,” said Mehak Khan, a student.
