New Delhi: Parts of Delhi received rain Saturday. India Meteorological Department said similar weather conditions are likely to prevail over the next few days.The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal, as opposed to 34.8 degrees a day earlier. The heat index or feels-like temperature stood at 43.9 degrees at 2.30 pm Saturday.Between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm, Safdarjung, which is the city’s base station, received 3.4 mm of rainfall. Jharoda Kalan logged 11 mm, Janakpuri 10.5 mm, Chhatarpur 9 mm, Jafarpur 7 mm and Lodhi Road 0.5 mm during the same period.“There are chances of very light to light showers till Wednesday while rain is unlikely on Thursday and Friday. No significant change in maximum temperature is expected over the next few days,” said an IMD official.The minimum temperature was reported at 26.8 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.Delhi’s air quality index dipped to 70 in the satisfactory category.
