Hazaribag: Police have stepped up preparations for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi and Vishwakarma Puja, with superintendent of police Aman Kumar directing officers to maintain strict vigil in sensitive areas and ensure peaceful, harmonious celebrations.The directions were issued during a crime review meeting attended by deputy superintendents of police, sub-divisional police officers, inspectors and station house officers on Saturday. Police station in charges were asked to strengthen security arrangements and keep adequate forces ready.Kumar said, “Special surveillance will be maintained in sensitive locations, and officers have been directed to closely monitor elements who could disturb communal harmony. Action will also be taken against organised crime groups, illegal mining operators and other anti-social elements.” The police will simultaneously intensify drives against drug trafficking and cybercrime. Officers were instructed to identify places involved in the illegal sale of narcotics and take action against those involved.
