Panaji: Goa Forward Party (GFP) has urged govt to immediately initiate steps to fill all 58 vacant deputy superintendents of police (DySP) posts in Goa police. In a letter addressed to chief secretary V Candavelou, GFP president Vijai Sardesai also asked govt to expedite the pending promotion process of eligible police inspectors.“Ensure that promotions are made strictly in accordance with the applicable rules, seniority and eligibility and strengthen the supervisory structure of the police department at all levels to ensure effective and prompt policing,” said Sardesai.Against the 70 sanctioned DySP posts, only 12 have been filled while 58 of the 70 sanctioned posts lie vacant putting a considerable strain on the supervisory structure of the Police Department, said Sardesai.
