Kanpur: District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh on Thursday inspected the flood-affected Baniyapurwa village and reviewed water levels and relief measures.He directed officials deployed in the area to immediately relocate affected families to safer locations if the need arises.The DM said around 35 families in Bhagwandin Ka Purwa have been affected by the floods. Water levels have also risen in areas surrounding Baniyapurwa and Bhopalpurwa.He noted that the discharge of water from upstream has reduced. The impact of the decrease is likely to become visible by Friday evening and may lead to a drop in water levels.The DM said tehsil officials and staff have been deployed on the ground and that all necessary arrangements are being ensured.
