MUMBAI: The CBI has sent a letter to the Malwani police in Mumbai asking them to hand over documents in the Disha Salian case.Earlier this month, the Bombay High Court had directed the registration of an FIR in connection with Salian’s death that occurred at a Malad based housing society on June 8, 2020.The HC appointed a senior officer of the CBI to conduct the probe.“We have received a copy of the HC order. Accordingly, we have kept all case related documents ready. A CBI officer is likely to collect them from us later this week. CBI has also sent us a letter in this regard,” a senior police official said. The Mumbai Police’s probe had concluded that Salian’s death was a suicide and there was no foul play involved.Salian’s father had filed a petition before the High Court, through his counsel Nilesh Ojha, asking for her death be probed as a murder case and that “suspicious circumstances” surrounded it.While pronouncing its judgment, HC also directed that nobody was to be named as an accused in the FIR.“No one shall be treated as an accused unless and until there is suitable material against them,” the HC had directed.Salian, 28, was a celebrity manager and had worked with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput who was found dead on June 14, 2020, at his Bandra residence.
