Udupi: A man allegedly damaged an ATM at the Canara Bank Hoode branch after his transaction was declined due to the use of an unauthorised card on Aug 30.According to a complaint filed by K Ravikumar, 35, manager of the Canara Bank Hoode branch, the incident occurred around 9.52pm when the accused, identified as Ismail Bijapuri, came to the ATM located on the bank premises to withdraw cash.After the transaction was declined, the accused allegedly tried to damage the ATM display using a motorcycle key. He then picked up a fire extinguisher kept inside the ATM premises and struck the display twice, causing it to break and resulting in damage to bank property. Based on the complaint, Malpe police registered a case against Ismail Bijapuri under Section 324(4) of the BNS.
