Amravati: Amravati Municipal Corporation has been selected for a national award under the National Clean Air Programme.According to municipal commissioner Mangesh Gondawale, Amravati has won in Best Performing Cities category of Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan 2025-26, based on a survey by Central Pollution Control Board. The award is for cities with a population of 3 to 10 lakh.The ministry of environment, forest and climate change (MoEFCC) has communicated this to the municipal corporation, an official said. The award will be presented by the Union minister for environment, forest and climate change on Swachh Vayu Diwas, Monday (Sept 7) in New Delhi. The ministry of environment, forest and climate change launched the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) in Jan 2019.
