Bengaluru: The ongoing food safety crackdown has uncovered multiple violations at Hockey Club in Shanthinagar, where officials have found expired beverages, faulty labelling, unhygienic kitchen conditions and pest infestation.Officials from the department of food safety and drug administration inspected the club’s kitchen, food preparation and storage areas Saturday. They seized 40 bottles of expired soft drinks and found soda bottles with labels that did not comply with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) requirements.Officials also found poor hygiene and violations of prescribed food storage and handling practices. Pest infestation in food preparation areas raised concerns over possible contamination. The department issued a notice to the food business operator.Drugs worth Rs 4 lakh seizedIn separate raids on Sept 3, FDA officials seized medicines worth over Rs 4 lakh from two unlicensed e-commerce storage facilities linked to Amazon.Teams raided facilities in Anekal and Devanahalli. At Thattanahalli, Anekal, medicines worth Rs 2.5 lakh were seized from an unlicensed Amazon Seller Services Pvt Ltd premises. Another raid at Aerospace Park, Devanahalli, resulted in the seizure of illegally stored drugs worth Rs 1.6 lakh.
