Lucknow: A Supreme Court (SC)-appointed amicus curiae team on Saturday surveyed sites under scrutiny for alleged land-use and planning violations in Lucknow and reviewed action taken by Lucknow Development Authority (LDA).The team visited Aliganj, where it examined properties identified by LDA for alleged violations of land-use norms, and reviewed action taken following the June 22 fire incident at a commercial complex in Sector D.The survey was conducted in compliance with directions issued by Supreme Court during hearings in the Loganathan vs State of Tamil Nadu case, which concerns illegal constructions, alleged municipal connivance, and the unauthorised commercial use of residential properties across the country.According to LDA, 51 structures in Aliganj have been identified for alleged non-compliance with prescribed land-use regulations.The team also inspected sites in Sarsawan, Gomti Nagar Extension, and Wellness City where the authority has undertaken enforcement action. The team is expected to submit its findings to SC soon.
