Vadodara: A police sub-inspector was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting Rs 1 lakh bribe at a police outpost in Dahod district on Saturday.The accused Kesarsinh Chavda, an unarmed Police Sub-Inspector (Class III) attached to Kothamba police station and posted at the Vardhari outpost in Dahod district, demanded Rs 2 lakh in connection with a fatal accident case involving the complainant’s driver’s vehicle. Chavda demanded the money for facilitating bail for the accused in the case and for ensuring that he was not subjected to physical assault.According to the ACB, the complainant, approached the agency after Chavda as he was unwilling to pay the bribe.Acting on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap at the Vardhari outpost on Sept 5 and caught Chavda. The trap was conducted by S M Pathan, police inspector, ACB police station, Dahod, along with members of the ACB team.
