Chikkamagaluru: The students at Karnataka Public School (KPS), Kudregundi have brought laurels to the institution with an impressive performance at the Koppa zonal-level sports meet held in Koppa, ChikkamagaluruH P Prathiksha secured first place in 1,500 metre running, while Adhya Anand bagged third place in the same event. K R Ayush clinched first place in 800 metre, while R Shravan secured third place.In the 3,000 metre category, Poorvika and A V Sujan secured first place, while K P Pranam and K S Samanvi bagged third place.S Niranjan won first place in 1,500 metre and secured third place in high jump.H E Madhura emerged as a double winner, securing first place in 800 metre and first place in hurdles. K R Ramya secured third place in discus throw, while S S Akshay Kumar bagged first place in discus throw.In 400 metre, H P Akshay secured third place while T S Pavan won first place.In hammer throw, Shreeja secured first place while Pruthwi bagged second place.H Hemavathi delivered a stellar performance, securing first place in relay and second place in walking race and javelin throw.In team events, girls secured first place in kho-kho and throwball, and second place in kabaddi and volleyball, while boys secured first place in both kabaddi and kho-kho.The school has been securing the overall championship in the sports activity for the last four years, said physical education teacher Prakash.
