GUWAHATI: An explosion occurred near the gate of Manipur Congress Legislature Party leader K Meghachandra Singh’s residence in Yairipok on Thursday.Meghachandra’s PRO, Ibochouba Thounaojam, said the blast was suspected to have been caused by an explosive thrown by an unidentified person.There was no report of injuries. It was not immediately known whether the MLA was at home when the explosion occurred.The identity of the suspected perpetrator and the motive behind the incident remain unknown.Police reached the spot soon after the blast and conducted a search operation.
