Nagpur: For the first time, the ambitious Rs11,300 crore New Nagpur Project was presented to national and international investors and developers at the Real Estate & Infrastructure Investors’ Summit (REIIS) 2026 in Mumbai on Thursday. Several developers expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in the project anchored around the International Business and Finance Centre (IBFC), officials said.The project is the brainchild of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who wants to develop New Nagpur as the next destination for investment and an IT hub. Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) commissioner Sanjay Meena gave a presentation about the project. Speaking after the presentation, Meena told TOI that several developers have shown interest in investing in the proposed New Nagpur Project.Maharashtra govt has taken up the project to develop Nagpur as a major business and investment hub for Central India. According to Meena, the proposed IBFC will be spread over 1,710 acres. “New Nagpur IBFC will be an important step towards creating a new business and investment centre for Nagpur and Central India,” Meena said.NMRDA commissioner said the centre would provide integrated infrastructure and a supporting business ecosystem for companies, global capability centres, startups and financial institutions. The project is also expected to bring major investments into Maharashtra’s real estate and infrastructure sectors.Meena said the Mumbai conference focused on giving a new direction to development through strategic capital, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, technology and global investment partnerships.An agreement has also been signed with National Real Estate Development Council in connection with the project.The high-profile summit brought together global and domestic institutional investors, policymakers, banking leaders, real estate and infrastructure companies, technology innovators and other industry stakeholders, providing NMRDA with its first major platform to present New Nagpur to a wider business audience.The summit, hosted by NAREDCO Maharashtra, was held under the theme ‘RE-Defining India’s Growth Story’ and focused on strategic capital, infrastructure, AI, proptech and global investment partnerships.
