Patna: A four-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped while she was sleeping with her mother at the doorstep of her maternal grandmother’s home in Muzaffarpur district early Tuesday morning. The family searched for the girl, but when they failed, they informed police. A Dial-112 team also started searching for the missing child.During the search, villagers saw the child crying from the side of the bushes near a deserted field on Tuesday evening. The family took her to a private hospital suspecting sexual assault. The family alleged that a villager had committed the crime. The girl is being treated at the hospital. Raids are on to nab the accused, police said on Wednesday.Police officer Manish Kumar said, “Based on the statement of the girl’s mother, a named FIR was lodged against Pankaj Sah. Police are conducting raids to arrest him. Medical examination of the girl has been done and the report is awaited, after which further action will be taken.”
