Shimla: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes under the social justice and empowerment department, including the Mukhya Mantri Sahara Yojana.The department launched a dedicated online application to ensure transparent, efficient and hassle-free delivery of benefits. So far, 4,050 active and eligible beneficiaries have migrated to the new system, while Aadhaar-based e-KYC has been completed for 3,958 beneficiaries. An official spokesperson stated that financial assistance for 3,723 beneficiaries for July 2026 had been disbursed.The department has also received 4,143 new applications through the e-Kalyan Portal, which are being processed. The scheme provides Rs 3,000 monthly assistance to BPL and economically weaker families affected by specified fatal diseases, including support for attendants, the spokesperson added.A budget of Rs 20 crore has been allocated this financial year, with Rs 4.46 crore spent so far.
