Times News NetworkKanpur: Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, will host Northern Regional Farmers’ Fair and Agricultural Industry Exhibition from Oct 15 to Oct 17 at its main campus, said the university vice-chancellor Sanjeev Gupta. The three-day event will have the theme “Empowered Farmers, Self-Reliant India.”Farmers from more than eight states and Union Territories, including Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, New Delhi, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Chandigarh, will participate.Director of Extension VK Tripathi said agricultural machinery, seeds, fertilisers, medicinal plants, handicrafts, solar-energy equipment, dairy products and processed foods would be displayed and sold. The newly developed crop varieties from the university, mushrooms and millet products will be among the main attractions.Media in-charge Khalil Khan said the fair would also showcase innovative and start-up models in smart and digital agriculture, developed by farmers and students in collaboration with agricultural science centres.Banks, research institutions and government departments will set up stalls to inform farmers about their programmes and achievements.
