Pune: District collector Jitendra Dudi has imposed restrictions on the use of laser lights during the Ganapati festival immersion processions from Sept 14-25, including during the main 10th day Anant Chaturdashi immersion procession.The order has been issued to ensure that public Ganeshotsav visarjan (immersion) processions are conducted peacefully, while maintaining law and order and taking into consideration the health of the public at large.The Pune district administration has warned that individuals, organisations or Ganesh mandals found using laser lights during the visarjan processions in violation of the order will be liable for punishment and legal action under section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable laws.
