T’puram: A 19-year-old youth was killed after the motorcycle he was riding rammed into the rear of a KSRTC bus in Kovalam on Friday evening. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Ajas of Nemom.The accident occurred around 4.20pm when the KSRTC bus had stopped near Thuppanathukavu to allow passengers to alight. According to Kovalam Police, Ajas, who was riding towards Kovalam from the Thiruvallom side, lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into the rear of the stationary bus.Ajas sustained serious head injuries in the impact. He was soon taken to hospital but could not be saved. The body was shifted to MCH.Police have registered a case under the provisions relating to an unnatural death and have begun an investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident. Officers are also examining details of the accident and the vehicles involved.Ajas had completed his Class XII education and had subsequently completed a mobile technician course, his relatives said. He was reportedly pursuing opportunities in the technical field. He is survived by his parents and younger brothers, Ajinas and Ajiras.
