Vadodara: A 19-year-old biker allegedly riding at high speed hit a family of three while they were crossing National Highway 48 near Jambuva on Thursday night, killing a young girl and leaving her mother and sister grievously injured.The incident occurred around 10.30pm when Jaimini Patel and her daughters, Dhwani and Misty, were crossing the highway. According to police, the biker, identified as Mohit Patel, was travelling at high speed and failed to notice the victims before crashing into them.Dhwani succumbed to her injuries, while Jaimini and Misty were rushed to a hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.Makarpura police registered a case and arrested accused Mohit Patel in connection with the accident.National Highway 48, which passes along the outskirts of Vadodara, has witnessed several accidents due to heavy traffic and multiple intersections. Police have been undertaking road-safety awareness campaigns to reduce the number of accidents.
