Noida: A man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of his 26-year-old cousin in Dadri. Imran allegedly hacked Shahid with an axe on Monday in Rampur Fatehpur village following a dispute over the division of family land. He was arrested near a railway flyover in Dadri, and cops seized a blood-stained vest and the murder weapon.Shahid’s brother had filed a complaint in the case on Monday, and an FIR was registered under BNS Section 103(1) (murder) at Dadri police station the same day. Police said they used manual intelligence and electronic surveillance to trace and arrest the accused.Imran confessed during interrogation that he and Shahid had been in a dispute over the distribution of family properties for some time. The accused said the two got into an argument over the same on Monday, which escalated into Imran attacking Shahid with an axe.Police said an investigation is underway to establish the sequence of events leading to the murder and verify the circumstances surrounding the land dispute.
