Berhampur: Two persons went missing after a boat capsized in Khadga river near Daka under Baliguda police station limits in Kandhamal district on Tuesday evening. Rescue operation has been launched by the fire services personnel but they are yet to be found, said police on Wednesday. Eight people were returning to their village Palasi from Ejak near Phiringia in a boat when it capsized. While six persons were rescued by locals, two went missing, sources said.After getting information, the fire personnel from Baliguda launched a rescue operation by deploying an IRB boat, life buoys, life jackets and scuba diving equipment. Due to the rocky and difficult terrain of the river, the scuba set could not be effectively used at the site, sources said.IIC, Baliguda police station, SK Behera said they informed the nearby police stations about the incident and asked them to immediately inform if they locate the missing persons in their respective areas.
