Kanpur: A 30-year-old man is suspected to have drowned while taking a bath in the Ganga at Saraiya Ganga Ghat under the Shivrajpur police station area on Sunday morning.According to police, Gyan Prakash Bajpai, a resident of Kakupur Rabban village, had been taking a dip in the Ganga every day during the month of Shravan as part of a religious ritual.On Sunday morning, while bathing in the river, he was allegedly caught in a strong current and swept away within moments.After receiving information about the incident, police reached the spot and launched a search operation with the help of divers.However, he could not be traced till the filing of this report.
