A day before her tragic death in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, along with her husband and son, Sangita Chandgude had posted a video on her Youtube channel.

Chandgude, who had over 30,000 subscribers, died in a freak series of falls after her 19-year-old son jumped from a hilltop, followed by her husband in an attempt to save the teenager.
Sangita’s YT video
Sangita’s video appeared to be about relationships and their value. In the video, she stressed that efforts in a relationship should go both ways and be reciprocated.
She added that there is no point in doing a great deal for someone who does not value your love or appreciate your efforts.
“Keep the willingness to give not just what is on your plate, but even what is in your destiny — but only to someone who values you, who values your love.”
“If a person does not value you, does not value your love, and does not appreciate what you do for them, then there is no point in doing anything for such a person.”
Comparing relationships to flatbread (rotis/chapatis), Sangita stressed that it tastes good only when it is cooked on both sides. Likewise, she said, the same applies to relationships.
“A roti tastes good only when it is cooked on both sides. If it is cooked on only one side, you cannot eat it. The same applies to relationships. If a relationship works from both sides, and both people value and appreciate each other, then stay in such a relationship.”
“Otherwise, if one person keeps making all the effort and the other doesn’t value it at all, then there is no meaning in such a relationship. It is always better to walk away from such relationships. Right?”
‘Society judges women no matter what…’
In another video, Sangita was seen talking about how society judges women no matter what they do. She said people won’t let you “sit on a horse” nor “walk on foot”, and urged everyone to stop worrying about what others think.
“You know how people are — they won’t let you sit on a horse, nor will they let you walk on foot. So stop worrying about what people think.”
“If a woman has a job, they say she is neglecting her family to work. If she stays at home, they say, ‘She is so educated, yet she just sits at home and lives off her husband.’ If she laughs and talks with someone, they call her characterless. If she doesn’t talk, they call her arrogant.”
She urged people to stop worrying about what others think and said that one should live life for oneself.
“So, don’t worry about what people think. People will judge you and put labels on you no matter what you do. So, live for yourself. You get only one life, so enjoy it. Live for yourself, live for your children, do what feels right to you, and be happy. Right?”
What exactly happened?
Kunal Chandgude, a 19-year-old, went up the hill at around 10 am on Friday after an argument with his parents over his demand for a new mobile phone. His father, Murlidhar Chandgude, 48, followed him there along with his wife.
The incident took place at Khavda Hill in the Tisgaon area under Waluj MIDC police jurisdiction on Friday.
As they tried to persuade him to back down, many others, including the police, fire brigade personnel, villagers and the sarpanch reached the spot.
Rescue personnel tried to place a safety net at the foothill, but the 19-year-old repeatedly changed his position near the edge, making it difficult for them to anticipate where he might jump, police said, HT reported earlier.
“It seems he was deliberately attempting to take the extreme step. The situation continued for nearly three hours. After 1 pm, his father slowly approached him and pleaded with him to step away from the edge. The teenager suddenly jumped, and his father also fell while trying to grab and save him,” Rameshwar Gade, inspector at Waluj MIDC police station.
The father initially tried to reason with his son from below before climbing up during the final 15-20 minutes of the ordeal. At around 1 pm, he moved closer to his son and attempted to grab him as he approached the edge.
The boy then fell from the steep hill, and his father, who tried to save him, also lost his balance and fell. The mother, who witnessed her husband and son plunge from the hill, fell moments later, police said.
The bodies were recovered by the police and were sent for further formalities.
