Marquee Brands To Acquire Roots
Brand management firm Marquee Brands finalized a deal on Thursday to acquire Canadian retailer Roots Corporation for C$4.10 per share in cash. Marquee has teamed up with JM&A Design and Development, who will serve as core operating partner of Roots. “Few brands are as deeply connected to Canada’s identity as Roots,” JM&A President & Creative Director Joseph Mimran said in a statement, adding that the plan is to build on that strength while staying true to the brand’s character.
