JAIPUR: Members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) were stopped by villagers from visiting a local government school in Rajasthan on Friday, according to news agency PTI.A villager said the community did not want the issue to be politicised.A villager said Rs 12 lakh had already been approved for the school and that local residents were capable of carrying out the construction work themselves.“We don’t want to politicise the issue. Rs 12 lakh has been approved for our school. Villagers are capable of building the school. We had constructed a temple earlier and we are capable to build temple of education as well. We don’t want any support from Cockroach Janata Party,” the villager said.Villagers oppose CJP’s visitThe villager also said the community was opposed to the CJP and its views, alleging that the party called for dividing the country and made objectionable remarks about Lord Ram.“We are opposed to such party which calls for dividing the country and say bad words for Lord Ram. We oppose such people. We need people who work for the country,” the villager said.The incident occurred as the CJP continues its campaign to inspect government schools and highlight alleged shortcomings in infrastructure and facilities.Dipke alleges attacks on CJP volunteersMeanwhile, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke alleged that the party’s volunteers were attacked while visiting a government school in Rajasthan.Dipke claimed that the Rajasthan police appeared to be a “mute spectator” while alleged attacks were carried out against CJP volunteers visiting government schools.He also questioned why people objected to CJP volunteers entering schools when some government schools were allegedly being run from buffalo sheds.“Seems to be a mute spectator while goons attack CJP volunteers for visiting govt schools. They don’t seem to have a problem with schools running in buffalo stables, but somehow have a problem with CJP volunteers entering those schools. What exactly are they trying to protect?” Dipke said.In a post on X, the CJP also alleged that its team was attacked by “BJP goons” while visiting a government school in Kanwarpura, Rampura, for an audit.“BJP goons once again resorted to violence! The govt school in Kanwarpura, Rampura, has been running from a buffalo shed for years. Our team was attacked by BJP goons when we reached there for the audit. Is auditing schools a bigger issue than kids having no proper classrooms?” the party said.Ranka alleges BJP workers attacked CJP teamCJP co-convener Ashutosh Ranka alleged that BJP workers attacked members of the party’s team who had reached a government school in Kanvarpura, Rampura, for an inspection.Ranka claimed that the school had been operating from a buffalo shed for several years and questioned the alleged opposition to efforts to improve its condition.He alleged that the BJP was “fine with our children continuing to study in a buffalo shed” but objected when the CJP team tried to get the school fixed.(With agency inputs)
