Prayagraj: Dr Rajendra Prasad National Law University appointed 12 assistant professors, taking its total faculty strength to 18, as the university prepares for its next phase of growth with the upcoming permanent campus in Jhalwa.The new appointments include 10 faculty members in law and two in social sciences departments, strengthening the university’s interdisciplinary approach to legal education. The newly appointed faculty are of strong academic and professional backgrounds, hailing from Delhi University, Allahabad University, Banaras Hindu University, University of Lucknow, NLU Delhi, NLU Jodhpur, NLU Odisha, RML National Law University, Lucknow, Gautam Buddha University and IIT Kharagpur.The faculty members bring expertise in emerging areas of legal education, including data privacy, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, forensic evidence, medical jurisprudence, human organ transplantation, consumer protection, FinTech and regulation of digital businesses and emerging technologies.The 12 faculty members have already assumed charge and started teaching from the 2026-27 academic session that commenced on Aug 1. They have also contributed to university committees and academic and co-curricular activities.The university currently operates from its transit campus, while construction of its permanent campus at Jhalwa is progressing. The new campus is expected to provide expanded academic and infrastructural facilities and support the university’s plans for growth in teaching, research and innovation.“The university is witnessing remarkable growth and emerging as a vibrant centre of legal education and academic excellence under Visitor, Justice Manoj Misra and Chancellor of the university Justice Arun Bhansali,” said Vice-Chancellor Prof Usha Tandon.
