Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Nidhhi Agerwal on Wednesday told the Enforcement Directorate (ED) that she was unaware of the legal implications of endorsing online betting platforms and regretted promoting such applications, during nearly four hours of questioning in the agency’s money laundering probe.Agerwal appeared before the ED office at Basheerbagh around 10 am and recorded her statement as part of the agency’s ongoing investigation into the promotion of online betting platforms.According to sources, the actor is believed to have told investigators that she did not know promoting such applications could attract legal consequences and admitted that she should not have endorsed them. She also informed officials that she would not undertake similar promotions in the future.Promoted Jeetwin, Fairplay in 2024The actor had promoted and advertised multiple betting applications, including Jeetwin and Fairplay, during 2024. ED officials questioned her about the endorsements and the circumstances surrounding the promotions.She told investigators that she would not endorse such platforms again.The ED probe stems from police cases relating to advertisements and promotions for online betting and gaming platforms, including an FIR registered by Miyapur police and cases being investigated by the Crime Investigation Department.Agerwal had been summoned by the ED to explain her role in promoting the platforms as part of the money laundering investigation linked to the online betting ecosystem.
