Patna: The state govt has decided to build a state-of-the-art fire testing and training centre on IIT-Patna campus at a cost of Rs18.67 crore. The govt will also spend Rs 29.15 crore on two-lane widening of Nakati Bhawani Path and strengthening of the road leading to Usri from there in Patna west, said deputy CM Samrat Choudhary on Tuesday.“The youth of the state will get training in fire safety and disaster management services as the professional technical skills will open doors to new employment possibilities. This will be the state’s first Centre of Excellence for Fire Testing, Training and Research Laboratory, for which Rs 17.36 crore will be spent on building construction, purchase of state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure development. An amount of Rs 1.31 crore has been set aside annually for the operation and maintenance of the centre for the next five years. It will be used to meet the expenditure on human resources, technical staff and other administrative needs,” he said.The deputy CM, who also holds the finance portfolio, added the Nakati Bhawani Path project will benefit a population of around 50,000 in more than 10 villages, including Chakmusa, Korjichak, Korji Mohammadpur, Dharampur and Moti Chowk-Ram Janaki Temple path.
