Patna: A 30-year-old businessman died after he jumped in front of a moving train in Mehndiganj police station area of Patna City on Tuesday after recording a video, in which he purportedly blamed his friend and wife for the extreme step.Mehndiganj station house officer Kishore Kunal said that Mehta ran a business in Deoghar, Jharkhand, and he was about to catch a train on Tuesday morning, when the incident happened. “The police took the body into its custody and sent it for postmortem. The case will be investigated on the basis of an application submitted by the family,” he said.In the video, the victim purportedly said, “I am devastated and cannot continue living. My trusted childhood friend Mohit has ruined my family. The betrayal has left me heartbroken and hopeless. I earnestly request my brothers to look after my three children — two sons and a daughter. My wife shares the blame. Mohit, who betrayed my trust, deserves punishment for his actions.” TOI, however, can not confirm the authenticity of the video. The police said that they will investigate the video.Mehta’s maternal uncle, Pawan Kumar, said that a few days ago, both the friends had a fight. “Mohit lodged a complaint against Mehta in Mehndiganj police station. He was worried about getting arrested,” he said.
