Chennai: Four students and the driver of a private school bus suffered minor injuries after the bus collided with a container truck near Sholavaram in Tiruvallur district on Monday morning.According to police, 15 students of a private international school in the Ponneri area had returned to Chennai after spending their holidays in their home countries. They were being taken from Chennai airport to the school when the accident occurred around 7am.Police said the bus and the container truck were attempting to overtake each other when they collided near a junction. The impact shattered the bus’s front windshield and damaged the windows and metal framework on its right side. A portion of the container truck protruded into the seating area of the bus.The students panicked after hearing the loud thud and cried out for help. Four students and the bus driver suffered minor abrasions.The school management arranged a replacement bus and took the injured to a private hospital. They were treated as outpatients and discharged.Red Hills traffic investigation wing reached the spot and began an inquiry into the accident.
