Kolkata: Trinamool MLA Dilip Mondal on Monday moved Calcutta High Court, seeking an early hearing, saying as many as 39 FIRs had been filed against him while the hearing of his prayer against four FIRs filed against him remains pending.Mondal was arrested on May 27 from a hotel in Puri following non-bailable FIRs drawn against him for allegedly threatening political opponents and BJP workers during a public meeting.Mondal’s counsel Kishore Datta mentioned the matter before Justice Saugata Bhattacharyya, stating that when Mondal had first moved High Court seeking quashing of FIRs on May 22, there were merely four FIRs against him. During the pendency, the number has increased to 39.The prayer for an early hearing may be taken up on Friday.
