CHENNAI: CM C Joseph Vijay on Sunday condemned the killing of three Tamil farmers by Karnataka forest officials in the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary area.In a post on X of Vijay, called for a high-level probe and action against those responsible.“The killing of Anthony Sami, John Rose Peter and Kumar, who were living in villages in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district, by Karnataka forest officials in the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary area in the early hours of August 15 is painful. I strongly condemn this massacre,” Vijay said.He said the explanation given by the Karnataka Forest Department regarding the incident was not acceptable and demanded a fair investigation into the deaths.“An honest investigation should be conducted into this brutal incident. A high-level inquiry committee should be constituted and appropriate punishment should be given to those who committed the mistake,” Vijay said.He also urged the Karnataka government to provide all necessary assistance to the families of the victims and take appropriate steps to ensure that such an incident does not recur.“I urge the Karnataka govt to take appropriate action to prevent such an incident from happening again,” he said.
