Jaipur: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) will launch a statewide “School Thik Karo” campaign in Rajasthan to seek accountability and push repairs at dilapidated govt schools, national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said Sunday.Ranka said the organisation has received requests from nine districts to inspect unsafe or poorly maintained schools, and its teams will visit all districts in the coming days to press authorities to act.The CJP team in Rajasthan has received requests to inspect schools in Jaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Dholpur, Bharatpur, Kota, Barmer and Hanumangarh.“We have received requests to inspect certain schools in these locations and raise the students’ issues as the administration is refusing to heed demands to fix the schools. Over the next two weeks, CJP volunteers in Rajasthan will visit the schools to seek accountability. Providing good education and health facilities are the basics for any state govt. If the govt is not able to provide these, then why hold the positions?” said Ranka while speaking to TOI.The CJP team added that their protest at a govt school in Thanagazi in Alwar district on Friday was a start to the mega campaign being planned in the state.“It has been over a year since the school collapse tragedy in Jhalawar, and the education minister has still not shared a concrete plan on how over 80,000 classrooms in dilapidated conditions will be fixed. Students are being forced to study in unsafe buildings, risking their lives. The minister must share a plan in the state assembly, or we will start a mass movement demanding Dilawar’s resignation,” added Ranka. The CJP team has also appealed to the public to approach their volunteers through social media platforms if there is a dilapidated school in their city or village and “the administration is not listening.”“The CJP team will reach there soon, and we will ensure our children’s schools are fixed,” said the national spokesperson.Deepak Baliyan, another CJP spokesperson, said, “We will keep raising students’ issues as govt schools in Rajasthan are in very poor condition. This is not just in rural areas, but even in chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s constituency, schools are in a poor condition.”Box-Edu dept says ‘no outsider can enter schools without permission’The state education department Sunday evening issued an order stating that no outsider will be permitted to enter the school premises without the prior permission of the principal or head of the institution. Govt officials authorised to discharge their official duties will, however, be allowed. Photography, videography, interviews, audio recording, or live streaming involving students, teachers, or school activities will also not be allowed without prior permission of the principal.School authorities have been instructed to ensure that there is no collection, publication, or dissemination of students’ photographs, videos, or personal information that could compromise their privacy, dignity, or safety. The rules add that every visitor must make an entry in the visitor’s register before entering the school premises and no outsider will be allowed to enter classrooms, laboratories, library, hostel, playground, restrooms or any area where student activities are taking place, unless accompanied by the principal, a teacher or an authorised school official.
