Mangaluru: Former BJP spokesperson Vikas P has filed a police complaint seeking legal action against the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairperson Sonia Gandhi, for allegedly disrespecting the national song, Vande Mataram, during the Independence Day celebrations at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi.In the complaint, Vikas sought action under Section 3 of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act and sections 195 and 352 of the BNS.The alleged incident took place during the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Congress headquarters on Aug 15 .“Every citizen has a duty to ensure that the national song is accorded due respect. Insulting it, disrupting its rendition or objecting to it amounts to an offence,” he stated in the complaint while seeking action against Gandhi. City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH said no case has been registered.
