Shivamogga/ Madikeri: State BJP chief BY Vijayendra on Sunday accused the state govt of targeting RSS. Speaking to reporters in Shivamogga, he challenged the govt to produce specific legal provisions showing that non-registration of an organisation is illegal or that RSS has engaged in unlawful activities.“Attempts by former PMs Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi to curb the organisation failed to stop its growth. It has now completed 100 years,” he stated.He criticised Congress leader Sonia Gandhi for not reciting the complete lines of Vande Mataram during its 150th-year milestone, stating that every citizen should condemn such disrespect toward national sentiments.In response, in Bhagamandala in Kodagu district, CM DK Shivakumar said the govt is not targeting any organisation or political party but merely focusing on ensuring law and order in the state. Speaking to reporters, he said: “We are not targeting anybody but merely ensuring law and order.”“During Vote Chori protest in Bengaluru, me and Siddaramaiah told opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and AICC chief Mallikarjuna Kharge that we cannot take out a protest march from Freedom Park to Election Commission (CEO) office as we had no permission. As the ruling party, we did not violate the law and followed the rules,” he stated.
