Pune: The police chiefs of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad are among several senior police officers nominated for the Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak and Utkrisht Seva Padak announced on the Independence Day eve.Moreover, Sudhir Hiremath, special inspector general of police (CID) and Rajkumar Shinde, superintendent of police (GRP, Pune), are two more prominent names nominated for Utkrisht Seva Padak from Maharashtra.The Ministry of Home Affairs instituted the two awards in July 2018 to recognise long-term and distinguished service. Meanwhile, deputy superintendent of police (CID) Jitendra Kadam has been nominated for the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service.The Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak is awarded to police personnel for a continuous 25 years of service and a distinguished record, while the Utkrisht Seva Padak is awarded for distinguished and continuous service of 15 years.Pune police commissioner Amitesh Kumar, Pimpri Chinchwad police commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey, CID chief Sunil Ramanand, additional commissioner of police (Pimpri Chinchwad) Sarang Awad, additional commissioners of police (Pune) Manoj Patil and Rajesh Bansode, special inspector general of police (Motor Transport) Ashok Morale, deputy superintendent of police (Pune Rural) Rajendrasingh Gour, assistant commissioner of police (Pimpri Chinchwad) Vitthal Kubade, and Pimpri Chinchwad police inspectors Nitin Gite, Arvind Pawar, Anil Vibhute and Gorakh Kumbhar were among those named for the Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak.Joint commissioner of police (Pune) Sanjay Darade, SRPF Group-I commandant Ravindrasing Pardeshi, principal of the Police Training School in Khandala, Smruti Patil, deputy commissioner of police (Pimpri Chinchwad) Shweta Khedkar, Pimpri Chinchwad police inspectors Ravikiran Nale, Vinod Patil, Suhas Avhad and Sachin Shirke, and Pune Rural police inspector Pramod Kshirsagar were among those named for the Utkrisht Seva Padak.
