Mangaluru: Thumbay Moideen, founder president of the UAE-based Thumbay Group, on Friday said the group is exploring initiatives that will serve the community in the region and could create employment opportunities over the next two to three years.Addressing reporters during celebrations marking the group’s entry into its 30th year in the UAE, Moideen said he remains deeply attached to his native village, Thumbay in Dakshina Kannada, and intends to undertake projects that benefit the local community.He said the focus will be on meaningful initiatives rather than purely commercial ventures.Moideen said Thumbay Group has built a strong presence in education, healthcare, hospitality, media and several other sectors and has successfully transformed the Thumbay name into an internationally recognised brand. He said his long term goal is to make it a household name globally in the coming years.
