Agartala: Salesforce and the Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Tripura, have announced a collaboration to expand access to digital skills and prepare more than 10,000 learners for the digital workforce by 2027.
The initiative, announced at the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 in Agartala, will use Salesforce’s Trailhead online learning platform to provide self-paced learning opportunities to students, youth, government employees and entrepreneurs across the state.
The programme will offer curated learning paths for beginner and intermediate learners covering areas including customer relationship management (CRM), business analysis and technology fundamentals. Salesforce will also provide online orientation resources to help participants navigate the platform and support their learning journey.
The Directorate of Information Technology will identify participants through government departments, educational institutions and skill development agencies, while also driving awareness and access to the programme across Tripura.
The collaboration comes as Tripura expands its digital infrastructure and governance initiatives. The state is developing the Tripura IT and Data Ecosystem Zone (TIDEZ) in Agartala, along with a planned IT Park and AI Centre of Excellence.
The state has also expanded its e-Office initiative from the State Secretariat to all three tiers of the Panchayati Raj system in just over a year, according to the announcement.
Kiran Gitte, IAS, Secretary, Information Technology, Government of Tripura, said the partnership would help equip students, government employees and entrepreneurs with future-ready digital skills and support the development of an IT ecosystem in the state.
Jeya Ragul Geshan B, IFS, Director, Information Technology, Government of Tripura, said the initiative would help connect the state’s young talent with globally relevant skills and complement investments in TIDEZ, the IT Park and the AI Centre of Excellence.
Arundhati Bhattacharya, President and CEO, Salesforce – South Asia, said practical learning needs to become more accessible as India’s digital economy expands, adding that Trailhead would support students, government employees and entrepreneurs in building capabilities for a changing workforce.
Trailhead provides technology and business learning through bite-sized modules and guided learning paths that learners can complete at their own pace.
